veg pulao


INGREDIENTS

rice-2 cups
veggies chopped-1 cup
(carrot,peas,cauliflour,capsicum,beans)
onion-1 medium
cumin seeds-1 tsp
whole garam masala
1 bayleaf,clove,green cardamon,cinamon stick
red chilly powder-1/2 tsp
cumin powder-1/2 tsp
salt as required
ghee/oil-1/2 cup
water
for garnishing
fried onion,cilantro

METHOD

  • soak rice for half an hour
  • heat oil add cumin seeds and whole gram masala , let it splutter
  • now add chopped onion and fry till golden then add veggies and powdred masala
  • now add rice and fry 
  • add water and salt
  • for the perfect pulao water should be one and half inch above the rice in the pan 
  • first cook on high flame when water gets leveled with rice ,turn the flame on low 
  • cook till done 
  • garnish with fried onions and cilantro
